Rains to prevail over northern Luzon, cloudy skies in the rest of PH
Dwellers in Northern Luzon may experience a rainy Tuesday due to the frontal system, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
MANILA, Philippines — Dwellers in northern Luzon may experience a rainy Tuesday due to the frontal system, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In a public forecast, weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said no low-pressure area or any tropical cyclone is being monitored within and outside the country’s area of responsibility. However, rainy weather may still prevail in Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, and Kalinga due to the frontal system.
“Pero ngayon, meron tayong frontal system na nakakaapekto dito sa may extreme northern Luzon at inaasahan natin na magdadala ito ng mga pag ulan sa ilang bahagi ng extreme northern Luzon,” said Dominguez.
(But now, we have a frontal system affecting extreme northern Luzon, and we expect it to bring rains to some parts of extreme northern Luzon.)
Residents of these areas were told to brace for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms may prevail due to the easterlies.
“Samantala, patuloy naman ang pag-iral ng easterlies o yung mainit at maalinsangan na hangin na nanggagaling sa dagat pasipiko dito sa malaking bahagi ng bansa,” said Dominguez.
(The easterlies or the warm and humid winds that come from the Pacific Ocean continue to prevail over much of the country.)
“Ito rin yung nagdadala sa atin ng mainit na panahon at matataas na tiyansa ng localized thunderstorms na inaasahan natin lalo na sa hapon at gabi,” she added.

(This is also what brings us hot weather and high chances of localized thunderstorms that we expect especially in the afternoon and evening.)
Pagasa announced the onset of the dry season in the Philippines on March 26, signaling the expected arrival of hot and humid weather across the country.
