MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Extreme Northern Luzon will have overcast skies and scattered rains, while hot and humid weather will prevail over the rest of the country on Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In a morning forecast, the state weather bureau said easterlies would continue to affect most of the country, while Extreme Northern Luzon would see the effects of the frontal system, or the zone where warm and cold air masses meet.

“The effects of the easterlies are still ongoing, bringing hot and humid weather to most parts of our country. We can still expect scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said in Filipino.
“Meanwhile, we expect partly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, particularly in Extreme Northern Luzon, the areas of Batanes and Babuyan group of islands. We will see some clouds here due to the frontal system,” he added.
Badrina also reported that similar weather conditions are expected on Election Day, May 12, but there is no low-pressure area or weather disturbance that has been monitored inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
