Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV), the Non-East Zone subsidiary of Manila Water Company, proudly marks its 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of purposeful growth, service excellence, and innovation in sustainable water solutions across the Philippines.

MANILA, Philippines – Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV), the Non-East Zone subsidiary of Manila Water Company, proudly marks its 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of purposeful growth, service excellence, and innovation in sustainable water solutions across the Philippines.

Over the past ten years, MWPV has emerged as a key driver of Manila Water’s goal of bringing its brand of service to key locations outside of the East Zone concession — providing vital services to underserved communities and enabling economic development through improved access to clean and reliable water. In 2024 alone, the Company invested over PHP 2.6 billion in capital expenditures (CAPEX) to upgrade infrastructure, expand service coverage, and future-proof its operations.

Key Regional Achievements:

FEATURED STORIES

In Luzon, business units in Pangasinan achieved a 4.04% reduction in Non-Revenue Water (NRW), and a 20% increase in water service connections (WSCs), reflecting both operational efficiency and improved service coverage.

Clark Water invested over PHP 500 million in capital expenditures, reduced energy consumption, and secured a significant amendment to its Concession Agreement to expand service capacity.

South Luzon Water has invested ₱609 million in CAPEX since 2019 to improve water access in Tanauan City. Most of these investments were allocated to pipe replacement projects, which have significantly reduced Non-Revenue Water (NRW) levels in the city.

The new acquisition of Laguna Aquatech significantly expanded coverage in Laguna Province from 21% to 27%, contributing over 47,000 new Water Service Connections and reinforcing MWPV’s footprint in Southern Luzon.

In the Visayas and Mindanao regions, Cebu Water is now delivering over 35 million liters per day (MLD) of safe and reliable water supply to the Metro Cebu Water District, a key milestone that strengthens public-private collaboration in addressing the region’s water security needs.

Tagum Water earned the Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Efficiency Award, a prestigious national recognition that underscores the company’s leadership in sustainability and responsible utility operations. The highlight of Tagum Water’s Energy Efficiency Program is the use of the Riverbank Filtration and Artificial Recharge in its water treatment plant (WTP). Currently operating at 26MLD, the Tagum WTP supplies approximately 65% of Tagum City’s water supply needs, benefitting more than 200,000 residents.

Boracay Water secured a 25-year concession agreement extension, with the support of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority ensuring continuity of service and support for the island’s growing tourism-driven economy.
Calbayog Water recently launched a vital septage management initiative, a first to cater to the desludging needs of domestic customers, enhancing environmental protection and sanitation for its service communities.

Estate Water, a leader in private estate utility operations, was awarded the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract for the Wawa Bulk Water Project, a major infrastructure effort that supports Metro Manila’s long-term water needs. It also broke ground on the Canlubang Sugar Estate Project, a 25-year bulk water supply initiative being constructed by Manila Water Infratech Solutions (MWIS) and to be operated by Estate Water—a testament to the Group’s integrated capabilities in developing end-to-end utility solutions.

Since the start of the concession of its first NEZ business unit, MWPV has laid 2,883.2 kilometers of water network and 981.7 kilometers of sewer network to serve more than 1.5 million customers.
