LPA in northern Sulu Sea to bring rain to several parts of PH

MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) located in the northern Sulu Sea will continue to bring rain to several parts of the country on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja, the LPA was last spotted 80 kilometers (km) east-northeast of Cuyo, Palawan.

“This LPA is still not expected to become a typhoon and is likely to dissipate in the next 24 hours,” said Estareja.

“However, it will still bring rain over much of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and northern Mindanao,” he added.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will likewise bring rain to the rest of the country, specifically in the eastern portions of Luzon, including Metro Manila, and eastern Mindanao.

The rest of Luzon and Mindanao, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to clear skies with chances of isolated thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.
