Solid North bus firm abides by DOTr suspension order after SCTEx crash

After a deadly multi-vehicle crash, the Pangasinan Solid North Transit has stopped its whole operations, saying that it will be responsible and take accountability for the incident.

MANILA, Philippines 鈥 After a deadly multi-vehicle crash, the Pangasinan Solid North Transit has stopped its whole operations, saying that it will be responsible and take accountability for the incident.

The bus company made the announcement on Saturday after the Department of Transportation (DOTr) ordered the suspension of its operations last Thursday.

鈥淔or our patrons, unless otherwise provided, all trips of PSNTI are temporarily suspended. Effectively, all affected bookings may request for their respective cancellations or other prerogatives,鈥 the company said in a statement on Saturday.

The company also said that it is sympathizing with the individuals affected by the multi-vehicle accident.

鈥淲e understand the severity of the situation, and we will be responsible and accountable for it,鈥 it added.

The multi-vehicle crash along the Subic 鈥 Clark 鈥 Tarlac Expressway killed 12 persons and injured at least 27 others last Thursday, according to the Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon).

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board earlier said that it will provide P400,000 to families of each deceased passenger in the accident.
