MANILA, Philippines — Three alleged members of a gun-for-hire and gunrunning group were arrested in Cebu City, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced on Wednesday.
In a statement, the police identified the suspects as “Jimboy,” “Rowel” and “Andrio.”
Jimboy was arrested on Friday in Barangay Cogon Pardo, Cebu City through a warrant for an alleged violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the CIDG said.
“He is listed as [the] number 8 regional most wanted person in Central Visayas,” the CIDG said.
Meanwhile, Rowel and Andrio were caught in a buy-bust operation on Saturday in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
“They were caught while selling [a] loose firearm, despite the ongoing election gun ban,” the CIDG said.
Further, the police said a caliber .45 pistol was recovered during the operation.
