Temperature rises in 11 areas nationwide, but all below `danger zone’

MANILA, Philippines — At least 11 areas in the country recorded heat indices under the “danger” level on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its latest computed heat index as of 5 p.m., Pagasa said that the heat index may range from 42°C to 51°C under this category.
Pagasa warned that heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.

The highest heat index was recorded at the Central Bicol State University for Agriculture in Pili, Camarines Sur at 44°C.
Dangerous heat indices were also recorded in the following areas:

- Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite

- Dumangas, Iloilo
- Iloilo City, Iloilo
- National Agrometeorological Station – University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna
- Infanta, Quezon
- Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas
- San Ildefonso, Bulacan
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
