MANILA, Philippines 鈥 The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deployed additional frontliners at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in anticipation of the long weekend.

鈥淲e have fielded a total of 48 immigration frontliners at NAIA alone to ensure that all immigration counters are fully manned during peak arrival and departure hours,鈥 said BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.

鈥淭his is part of our commitment to deliver swift and seamless service to the traveling public,鈥 he added.

Viado said immigration personnel from offices in Metro Manila were directed to assist in airport operations for the long weekend.

Under the new directive, all entry-level and acting immigration officers are required to perform rotational airport duties.

鈥淥ur frontliners are under strict orders to provide efficient, courteous, and professional service at all times,鈥 he said. 鈥淭his operational surge is aligned with the President鈥檚 call for improved government services, especially in high-traffic areas such as our airports.鈥

Viado also reminded travelers to arrive early at the airport because of the high volume of travelers.

鈥淲e urge the public to be at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled flight to allow ample time for immigration and security checks,鈥 he said.
