MANILA, Philippines — Dangerous heat index level is expected in 17 areas of the country on Thursday, April 10, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The “danger” level indicates that the heat index is between 42 and 51°C, which may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Pagasa’s forecast for Thursday said the following areas will see the “danger” heat index level:

Meanwhile, the Pagasa bulletin said 57 areas across the country may experience an extreme caution heat index level, meaning it is (33° to 41°)

This included the monitoring stations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City at 41° and the Science Garden in Quezon City at 39°.

The rest of the areas expected to see the “extreme caution” heat index level are as follows:

Meanwhile, a heat index of 32°C or the (caution level) is expected in Tanay, Rizal.

Further, the stations in Baguio City and Benguet State University, La Trinidad in Benguet, are expected to have a “not hazardous” heat index level of 26°C and 25°C, respectively.
