P6.7M shabu in auto spare parts package seized at Port of Clark

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga, Philippines — Authorities discovered approximately P6,792,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) concealed in a package containing automotive spare parts at the Port of Clark inside the Clark Freeport Zone on Friday, April 4.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office III said the seized shabu weighed a total of 994 grams.
“The parcel containing illegal drugs, declared as ‘spare parts,’ originated from East Africa and arrived at the Port of Clark on March 26, 2025,” the agency disclosed.
According to the statement, the Bureau of Customs at the Port of Clark discovered the shabu during routine shipment profiling and X-ray examination.

A “sweeping” operation conducted by the PDEA Special Enforcement Service K-9 Unit indicated the presence of illegal substances, prompting authorities to open and visually inspect the package.
The PDEA regional office said four transparent plastic packets wrapped in duct tape containing suspected shabu were confiscated. These will be subjected to forensic examination at its laboratory in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
“The successful interdiction operation was the result of collaborative efforts among the PDEA Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, the BOC–Port of Clark, the National Bureau of Investigation–Pampanga District Office, and the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Unit 3,” the agency said.
On Wednesday, authorities also intercepted approximately P7.6 million worth of ecstasy tablets — commonly referred to as party drugs — at the Port of Clark.
PDEA Regional Office III reported that the package, which contained 4,491 ecstasy tablets, arrived at Clark from Belgium on March 30.
