46°C ‘danger’ heat index forecast in Dagupan City on Saturday (March 29)

The heat index in Dagupan, Pangasinan is forecast to peak at 42 degrees Celsius (°C) on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — Dagupan City in Pangasinan is expected to experience a dangerous heat index of 46°C on Saturday (March 29).

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) made the forecast on Friday morning.

Dagupan City has been placed under the “danger” heat index level for six consecutive days already.

Its highest heat index this week peaked at 48°C on Friday.

Under the “danger” heat index category (42°C to 51°C), heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely while continued exposure to the sun can lead to heat stroke.

Both Cotabato City in Maguindanao and General Santos City in Cotabato are also forecast to experience the same heat index category at 42°C.
