CABANATUAN CITY — Anti-drug operatives seized P3.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and arrested two suspects during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday morning in Barangay Sta. Arcadia.
Colonel Ferdinand Germino, Nueva Ecija police director, reported that operatives from the Cabanatuan City Police Station-Station Drug Enforcement Unit captured the suspects after an undercover operative bought one sachet of shabu from them.
The suspects were identified as a 47-year-old woman from Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija, and a 42-year-old man from this city.
During the search, seven more sachets of shabu, weighing about 350 grams, were recovered from the female suspect. The male suspect also yielded a knot-tied plastic bag containing around 100 grams of the illegal substance, Germino said.
In total, authorities confiscated about 500 grams of shabu.
Charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects. INQ
