MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has terminated the appointment of Maj. Gen. Jesus Nelson Morales as commander of the Presidential Security Command (PSC) effective March 4, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said Tuesday.
Castro confirmed it in a Viber message to reporters.
B/Gen. Peter Burgonio was designated as acting commander of PSC in addition to his other duties, effective also on March 4.
Morales was appointed as head of the PSC, formerly the Presidential Security Group, in October 2023.
He served as the deputy wing commander of the Philippine Air Force’s Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao prior to the appointment.
The PSC provides close-in security and escort to the president of the Philippines and their immediate families, as well as visiting heads of state.
