MANILA, Philippines 鈥�The Visayas grid was placed under听 yellow alert on Wednesday afternoon, the said in an advisory.
A yellow alert is issued 鈥渨hen the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid鈥檚 contingency requirement.鈥�
The NGCP said the yellow alert in Visayas is effective from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
It also disclosed that the peak demand for the region is expected to reach 2,652 megawatts (MW), while the available capacity is 2,946 MW.
鈥淭he addition of yellow alert intervals is due to the increase in demand forecast, forced outage of PDPP3-E and VMCI, and deration of Leyte A,鈥� the NGCP said.
