Truck driver shot dead by security guard in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — A 46-year-old truck driver was shot dead by a security guard following a parking altercation in Manila Saturday afternoon, according to police.

The Manila Police District (MPD) said Richard Andalajao stopped for gas at a gasoline station along A. Soriano Street in Intramuros, when 52-year-old suspect Ramon Manato allegedly confronted him for parking his truck too long while settling his bill.

Based on the police report, a heated argument ensued and led to the shooting incident.

Police officers nearby responded top the scene and arrested Manato. Andalajao died on the spot.

Manato is currently under police custody and will face a homicide complaint, the MPD said.
