MANILA, Philippines 鈥 The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) on Tuesday said that it has launched a chatbot assistant to help process different types of complaints, including cybercrimes.
The CICC, which is an attached agency of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), said that the chatbot is called CYRI.
鈥淭hrough CYRI, we can聽 immediately get complaints聽 and concerns related聽 to cybercrimes, data聽 privacy and SIM registration鈥ur聽 agents on duty聽 can immediately advise or act聽 on a complaint聽 24/7,鈥 said CICC Executive Director Alexander K. Ramos in a statement.
This is part of the Center鈥檚 efforts to combat online crimes.
According to the CICC, CYRI can entertain complaints in both English and Filipino, with other languages like Cebuano and Ilocano to be included soon.
People can soon choose the language that they understand聽 and they can relate with聽 and feel more confident in answering聽 the聽 questions,鈥 Ramos聽 said.
The CICC assured that the user鈥檚 identity is protected as part of the Council鈥檚 privacy policy.
鈥淭he prevention and suppression of cybercrime is the main mission of CICC聽 which was established聽 based on聽 the Cybercrime Prevention聽 Act of聽 2012 or Republic Act 10175,鈥 said the agency in a statement.
The chatbot can be accessed through the CICC鈥檚 Facebook page.
