Pagasa: Fair weather in next 5 days; 2-3 storms expected in November

MANILA, Philippines — No tropical cyclone is forecast to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in the next five days,  but two to three are expected to hit the country this month, the state weather bureau said Saturday morning.

“Magandang balita naman po dahil wala tayong inaasahang bagyo na papasok ng Philippine area of responsibility sa susunod na limang araw,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

2 to 3 cyclones possible 

“But take note po, for the month of November, possible po yung dalawa hanggang tatlong bagyo ang papasok sa ating PAR, at mataas ang tiyansa na ito ay mag-landfall lalo sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon, Visayas and northeastern portion of Mindanao,” Estareja added.

(But take note, for the month of November, two or three tropical cyclones may  enter PAR and will likely make landfall over large parts of Luzon, the Visayas and the northeastern portion of Mindanao.)

Saturday forecast

Parts of the country on Saturday will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms  due to prevailing two weather systems: the shearline and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will experience the said weather condition due to shearline.

Similar weather conditions will be experienced in Aurora, Quezon, Camarines provinces, southern portion of Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi due to ITCZ.

 No gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
