CITY OF CALAPAN—After hiding for more than 20. years, a person wanted for murder in Maasin town, Iloilo province, was arrested on Thursday, August 18, by the police in Sta. Cruz town, Occidental Mindoro province.

A report from the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan regional police said cops arrested Fernando Melancio, 69, at 10:06 a.m. in Barangay Pinagturilan after serving an alias warrant issued on October 1, 1996 by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 31 in Iloilo City for murder, with no bail recommended.

Melancio is under police custody and would be turned over to the issuing court, police said. INQ
