Comelec to give Congress report on fast transmission in 2022 polls

MANILA, Philippines — The (Comelec) will soon submit its report explaining the fast transmission of 2022 poll results to the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee (JCOC), poll body spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said on Saturday.
The report, which is part of the Comelec thrust in ensuring transparency and accountability, will be submitted “hopefully by next week or the week after,” Laudiangco told 好色先生TV in a text message in reply when asked if the Comelec would explain the fast transmission to Congress.
Laudiangco explained that submitting the report to the JCOC was required by law.
The JCOC is composed of seven members each from the Senate and the House of Representatives — four of whom should come from the majority and three from the minority.
The committee is tasked with monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the to ensure transparency, credibility, fairness, and accuracy of the system.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia has noted that the national and local polls last May were the “most successful” as it was the “fastest” in the history of Philippine elections.
