VCM at Cebu City school had to be repaired for 3 hours for failing to print receipts

CEBU CITY––A vote-counting machine (VCM) at the Mambaling Elementary School in this city underwent repair for three hours after failing to print voting receipts at 5:45 a.m.

Gabriel Bitang, a technical support staff of the school, said the VCM was now operational after they replaced some parts of the machine.

While the VCM was being repaired, people continued to cast their votes, said Lilia Ramirez, school supervisor.

She said they made sure the ballots were secure with the help of poll watchers.

At past 8 a.m., the VCM was able to print the voter receipts.

At least 23,000 voters registered at the Mambaling Elementary School.
