4 alleged NPA members killed in Occidental Mindoro, Masbate 鈥� AFP

MANILA, Philippines—Four alleged members of the New People’s Army were killed in separate encounters in Occidental Mindoro and Masbate on Monday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reported on Tuesday.

In Occidental Mindoro, two members of the NPA were killed while one soldier was injured in two separate encounters in Barangay Malpalon in Calintaan town.

Both alleged NPA members, a male and female that were killed in the firefight, have yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, two communist rebels have also been killed during an encounter with the military personnel which lasted for eight minutes in Barangay Miabas, Palanas, Masbate.

The said encounters yielded three high-powered guns and hand grenades, among other war materiel, according to AFP.
