PH logs average of 478 new COVID-19 cases from March 16 – 22 — OCTA
MANILA, Philippines — An average of 478 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country from March 16 to 22, OCTA Research fellow Guido David said on Thursday.

The number of infections is among the lowest in Southeast Asia and East Asia, where some nations log an average of hundreds of thousands of cases per day.
The Philippines’ average daily attack rate (ADAR), or the number of new cases per 100,000 individuals, is at 0.43, which is considered very low.
Its growth rate in new cases, meanwhile, is at -15 percent.
According to David, the country remains at very low risk for COVID-19 while several other nations being gripped by a severe outbreak.
“Philippines at VERY LOW RISK as of March 22 with an ADAR of 0.43. South Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Brunei still on a SEVERE outbreak. Increase in cases in China and Laos,” he said in his social media post.
The following are the seven-day average of COVID-19 cases in neighboring countries with severe outbreak:
South Korea – 399,710
Vietnam – 255,142
Hong Kong – 18,567
Singapore – 10,199
Brunei – 1,482
