ANGELES CITY––Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives arrested on Saturday 13 Chinese nationals for alleged illegal online activities inside the Clark Freeport Zone.

Col. Norberto Delmas, CIDG-Region 3 officer, said the suspects were arrested inside two residential units of Rikko Homes along Pinatubo St.

Delmas said the CIDG-Angeles City received information about the alleged illegal activities of the Chinese nationals more than two weeks ago and conducted surveillance operations to verify it.

“It was really hard for us to make surveillance operations in the place. It was tightly guarded, and our undercover agents had a hard time entering the area. We also waited for the release of the warrant of arrest from the court before we raided the residential units,” he told the Inquirer Monday over the phone.

Judge Ma. Arabella Eusebio-Rodolfo of Municipal Trial Court of Clark Field, Pampanga issued the search warrants for violations of the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998 (RA 8484) as amended by RA 11449, Delmas said.

He said CIDG operatives had found the suspects allegedly engaged in online gambling and online “obscene activities” during the raid that they coordinated with the public safety division of Clark Development Corporation.

Delmas said 12 desktop computers, assorted flash drives, and automated teller machines cards, assorted Philippine and Chinese cellular phone subscriber identity module cards and computer accessories, like modems and routers were confiscated from one of the residential units

Seven more computers, 86 SIM cards, and assorted computer accessories were seized from the other unit.
