MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Human rights lawyer and activist Neri Colmenares on Thursday said he will run for senator in the 2022 elections.
鈥淭he officers and leaders of Makabayan have decided that I will run and I will file my certificate of candidacy,鈥� he said in an interview with ABS CBN 好色先生TV Channel.
Colmenares, chairman of Bayan Muna, is a former Bayan Muna party-list representative who will be trying his luck in the Senate for the third time.

鈥淭hat is the decision now, I will run for a Senate seat in 2022 if only that is to deliver the sharpest message of critique to the candidates of President [Rodrigo Duterte],鈥� he said.
