Pedestrian dead in Laguna road accident

LUCENA CITY––A pedestrian died Tuesday after a van hit him in Calamba City in Laguna province, the police said Wednesday.

Calamba police said in a report that Jose Marcado was crossing the national highway in Barangay Bucal around 10 p.m. when a van driven by Jonal Odioman hit him.

Mercado suffered grave injuries and was taken to a hospital but was later declared dead.

The driver of the van remains under police custody while the investigation continues.
