A police officer in England, United Kingdom, had to call for help after getting stuck in his own handcuffs, an ordeal he joked 鈥渃ould well make [his] career.鈥
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service reported the incident, which occurred last Tuesday, Aug. 18, via its official Twitter account on the same day.
鈥淧olice Officer released from handcuffs after they had failed, used pedal cutters to release,鈥 they said.
This could well make my career.

Scott Renwick, a core training sergeant for Northamptonshire Police, still got to laugh at himself and even took to Twitter on Tuesday to address the somewhat hilarious incident.
鈥淲ell that wasn鈥檛 a good start to the day. Thanks to @northantsfire for cutting me out of some broken cuffs. #NotFunny. I would have laughed too!!鈥 he said, sharing a photo of the faulty hinged handcuffs.
Renwick also admitted that as the fire and rescue service was next door, he just walked over to ask for assistance.
