Four toddlers in Louisiana, USA, were found to be on the loose near a highway, after they were reported to have escaped daycare.
The toddlers, all aged 1 year old, was spotted by a passerby outside of a fence near the busy Louisana 44聽 Highway, local media WAFB 9 first reported on Wednesday, April 5.
The children were in the care of the Color Wheel Learning Center at the time of the incident. When questioned, staff could not explain to local police how the four escaped the daycare鈥檚 play yard.
However, this was not the first time the establishment has dealt with this case. As per another report by聽The Advocate, a 1-year-old also escaped the play yard, and was found in the day care鈥檚 parking lot by a staff member.
As a result, the Louisiana Department of Education has revoked the daycare鈥檚 license due to the 鈥渕ultiple instances鈥� of children escaping the institution.
鈥淲e are thankful these young children are safe,鈥� State Education Superintendent John White said. 鈥淸B]ut we cannot ignore the recurring negligence displayed by this center.鈥�
The daycare has 15 days to respond to appeal the revocation.聽 Katrina Hallare /ra
