Van carrying paint topples along NLEX

MANILA, Philippines — A four-wheeler closed van carrying paint fell on its right side on Wednesday early morning along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Pulilan, Bulacan, due to a blown tire.

According to NLEX, the accident occurred at 3:24 a.m. at Kilometer 43+300 along the northbound lane of the expressway.

NLEX said the van’s rear right tire blew out and caused it to lose balance and fall on its right side.

The fallen van blocked at least one lane and caused a two-kilometer-long traffic build up.

A tow truck was able to remove the van at about 5 a.m. and the lanes were all open by 5:49 a.m., NLEX said.

NLEX said the driver of the van was in “okay condition” but his helper sustained minor injuries. /cbb
