MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a measure regulating the registration, licensure, and practice of occupational therapy in the country.

Duterte signed Republic Act 11241 or The Philippine Occupational Law of 2018 on March 11, but a copy of the law was released to the media only on Tuesday.

The new law created the Professional Regulatory Board of the Occupational Therapy, which would supervise and regulate the practice of occupational therapy in the Philippines.

Under the new law, all applicants for registration for the practice of occupational therapy shall be required to undergo a licensure examination to be administered by the Board. / gsg
